The Department of Turkish Education within the Fırat University Faculty of Education joined the MuşAlparslan University Faculty of Education on May 29, 2007 and has been continuing its educational activities ever since. The Department of Turkish Education which gave its first graduates in 2010, successfully graduated 453 teacher candidates in ten years. The program which has an experienced and successful academic staff; continues on its way with two associate professor, three doctor lecturers, three research assistants and 145 students currently in education.

One of the programs that have developed in our country in recent years and represent our country abroad is the "Teaching Turkish to Foreigners" program in our department. Turkish education is provided by academicians trained in this field to individuals living abroad, our citizens and foreign nationals living in the country. In this context, a doctor lecturer of our department has received his doctorate degree in this field and he has done practices of his doctorate abroad. In addition, there are doctor lecturers in our department who have received the "Teaching Turkish to Foreigners" certificate. In this context, In this context we are in a position to work together with all universities that have active TÖMER. At the same time, our students also have the right to receive this certificate. At the same time, our students also have the right to receive this certificate.

The fact that our ÖSYS undergraduate program is 100% full in the 2020-2021 academic year is an important indicator of the choice of the program. At the same timeThe Department of Turkish Education became the preferred program with the highest score (438) among all departments of MuşAlparslan University.

The Department of Turkish Education monitors the appointment status of graduate students and is aware of the high rate of appointment of its students in this regard. At the same time, the department is one of the departments with the most quotas in teacher appointments.

The Department of Turkish Education is one of the two programs that are included in the accreditation process among the departments of the Faculty of Education of MuşAlparslan University and meet these requirements.

MISSION

The main objective of the program is to train teachers to provide an effective way of teaching Turkish in Turkey and in the world. It aims to enable prospective teachers who graduate from the Department of Turkish Education to gain the knowledge, skills and competencies to teach Turkish both as a mother tongue and as a foreign language in formal and non-formal education institutions (Ministry of National Education, Private Schools and Courses, Turkish Education and Turcology Centers, Public Education Centers, Coordinatorships, Universities, etc.) in Turkey and abroad. At the same time, it is aimed to support the graduates of the program to continue their master's and doctorate education in programs such as Turkish Education, Educational Sciences, Linguistics, Turkish Language and Literature, and Teaching Turkish to Foreigners.
