Community Service Practices (CSP) course is a compulsory course that has been implemented since the 2006-2007 academic year within the framework of the changes made by the Council of Higher Education in the curriculum of the Faculties of Education. THU course, which aims to provide teacher candidates with theoretical and practical awareness of social responsibility and to develop cooperation, solidarity, effective communication and self-evaluation skills during practice, is a total of 3 hours per week, 1 hour of theory and 2 hours of practice.
The main objectives of this course are as follows;
To recognize community service practices and to carry out studies to gain the achievements included in the curriculum on this subject;
Relating one's own discipline to other disciplines with a holistic approach;
To develop sensitivity to social needs and find solutions to these needs.
Within the scope of the course; Social responsibility projects are carried out in terms of social and cultural values. In this regard, in the conduct and evaluation of the course; The steps include identifying current social problems, preparing projects to solve identified social problems, volunteering to take part in social responsibility projects individually and as a group, participating in social responsibility projects in various institutions and organizations, and evaluating the results of social responsibility projects.
